Serena Williams (Dishonors) American Flag!

friends, i apologize if this is old information.

sometimes i can't keep up with (all) the posts here.

the thread lists this as (janurary 25, 2003) so thats why i thought it to be old.. i remember that serena williams had (won) the cup and championship, and was photographed carrying the american flag, or engaging in what (some people) considered as (idolatry),--but what was (news) to me, was the fact that she was also photographed (dishonoring) the american flag as well.

Saturday morning house to house not good enought anymore!

just came from the assembly.

they critisized us for going house to house implying that it was cheating the system and just a way to get fs hours with out talking to people.

now they want jws to do mostly bus and business witnesses in the afternoon during weekdays.

i remember alot of witness would sit at the donut shop and count those hours also...i used to laugh because we drove around and sat for hours while many did call backs and we counted all those hours also. i would always want to hang out with the younger crowd on sat mornings. we would do one street then go to starbucks until 11am ..i always had my expected 10 hrs a month..

based on "official" bible based doctrine, were you "illegally disfellowshipped?

i have been reading many threads on disfellowsipping, and it makes me wonder if there were many who were disassociated, or thrown out of the org.

for reasons other than what the watchtower officially teaches?

just to add. being a former m.s i sat and listened to a few discussion and activity in our hall. the brothers never directly mentioned a name but they made it real clear who they were talking about. often if there was no evidence of adultry or other sin they would remove all privilages anyway. then the hunt would begin. anyone they spoke with or hung out with was always questioned on their behavior. more or less these people were forced out of the hall then it was justified by saying they were spirtually weak and that why they left. before i left i too was under alot of critizism and had several meeting but they couldnt put anything on me...thats why i did the slow fade away..

how we get trapped!

my dad and i spoke over lunch the other day about our religion.

he told me that he bumped into two of my cousins who are pioneers at the auburn congregation..he told them he was disapointed and was not invited to their party...after he told me his conversation with them he repeatedly kept on saying "the truth".

i finally corrected him and told him that was one of the ways to suppress him buy using words like that to inflict guilt and that there is no other truth when there is.

My friends's son is being held from her within the borg

im going through the same thing. my family has rejected me because i have questioned alot of things they preach and the policies they want to inforce..i can say that most of what they expect is unrealistic and more of a burden.. if you have read any of my post you would see simular issues..if your friend needs someone to vent with i would be happy to volunteer...this site can be helpful for people like us...i used to post alot on the silentlambs site but the new editor seem to be more of participant than actual people wanting to be on the site...i can recommend other place to go also....the mole

Preaching Doom and Gloom in October?

my ex husband (who is dfd but not a professsed apostate) told me yesterday that in october there is going to be a big push for preaching doom in service.. like the last chance to get people in before the end.. .

has anyone else heard this?.

i assume either his brother who is a dub or his mother have passed this on to him, in order to scare him to come back quick before everyone dies.. .

hi...are you ok fleaman? this info is great for me..it shows that here in california we really dont speak english..more or less might as well call it speaking american or californian... when i watch pbs tv the humor and connotations are so diffrent i really dont understand, i think this to be true for all of us on the west coast..we dont have a large eastern indian group here..mostly latin, asian, white..the black population is mostly in L.A and now migrating to the north...Eastern peoples are mostly east coast so this is why i ask my paki coworker alot of questions..she is from Boston..so educate me U.K people..

wow good info...jock is a high school term here in california for athletes...someone typed in removed but she is still my friend..we have serious discussions on culture diffrences from the east to what california thinks.....she said paki was ok to me and never heard of it being offensive...so the U.K has paki as bad? Jock is bad?....thats funny because when i hear, bloody fool, i think someone just got cut with a razor shaving..so you brits and scotts what else do we say in california thats would be thought of as bad? ...oh to answer on the jews cheering? never heard that neither...local latin stations showed only muslims..the national news and local news showed only muslims...and to leave this with you. not once have heard any cleric apologize for their crimes..bbc news interviewed a english cleric and he refused to speak down on 9/11...

I told my [removed] friend i was a former witness and she went on about several discussions she had with them at the door and asked me several questions. We were interrupted by a black coworker on the subject. it became a heated discussed where my [removed] friend and her ended up fighting over jihad and other subjects. The black coworker admitted she was muslim and stated very clear to both of us that no cleric will admit or say 9/11 was wrong and suicides are against the religion. I chimed in and told her it disgusted me that muslims in the U.S cheered at those deaths in the streets of New York. She said, "it was for revenge for those of us that are oppressed". She walked away and my [removed] friend said she hated all muslims and her religion forbids to socialize with such people. I have went door to door and had many discussions with various religions but i believe what ceri printed that islam wants all to be under the thumb of a theocracy worldwide. The same prayer of a new kingdom under one religion to serve god. my opinion only, but very odd on how extremes can kill or be prayed for....

Dubs who shun those not DFed/DAed who fade

lately i have been reading alot about those who cease the dub life, and though they are not officially dfed or daed, are treated as though they are by dub family and friends.

when i was a dub , i remember viewing those who did not come to meeting's anymore nor field service......as simply "weak" or inactive.

never do i remember shunning or snubbing those who seemed to fade away.

i had no choice but to fade...my family all being members is really hard just to stand up and give'm the finger. slowly many of them are questioning the org and their stand. some stuff on tv and news paper stuff is creating alot of doubt. Even my own grandmother is wondering where who new kingdom is? she keeps saying that she was told she would never die and has been waiting. i have been shunned since its clear to my family i will not return. i posted several times my dad and mom now refuse to attend. They in turn are being shunned also by my family and sister...if you have noticed my apostate preaching is being done to shore up the org from the major losses they are feeling these last few years..
